Seminar on Leadership in Health Care at KEMU (11-01-2019)

On occasion of Inaugural ceremony of SILVER JUBILEE Celebrations of ANNALS of KEMU (1995-2019) and two day workshop in KEMU was held on 11-12 Jan 2019. The Chief guest of the inaugural ceremony was Prof. Mahmood Ali Malik(Principal KEMC 1995, 1997-1998). The workshop on “Leadership in Healthcare” had the theme “Great Leaders inspire Greatness in Others”. The Chief Guest Prof. Mahmood Ali Malik talked about Quality education, innovative research and declared such training courses a benchmark for a good University.
He appreciated the progress and developments in research and completion of ongoing projects at KEMU. He said that a separate department of Medical Education and Research in Hammer Smith Hospital London was training the students in medical education and innovations half a century ago when he was consultant there.
KEMU is on way to progress with strong dept. of medical education, Quality Enhancement Cell Students counselling section. The director Institute of leadership excellence Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed and speakers including Dr. Masood Javed extended whole hearted support for the teaching and training of faculty members in educational leadership courses at KEMU. Foreign speakers will be invited to train faculty in educational leadership and innovative research.
Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal mentioned that with collective wisdom and team spirit, we are trying to take the University to the top level in research, innovations and educational courses. He told about the three projects were completed in 2018 and visit of foreign delegates and dignitaries to King Edward Medical University from all over the world. He further added after the visit of delegates of Vice Chancellors, Dean’s and Rectors of UK universities last month in collaboration with HEC and British council Pakistan Common Wealth and British Universities invited King Edward Medical University for collaboration in faculty development programs and to strengthen medical education. KEMU has also been offered membership of common wealth universities last week.
The participants of the workshop included Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal, Prof. Mustehsan Bashir, Prof. Zahid Kamal, Prof. M Sahrif, Prof. Safdar Khan, Prof. Zahida Rani, Prof. Colonel Ashraf Ch. , Prof. Ayesha Hamayun, Prof. Sameer Anwar, Dr. Masood Javed and many others.
