136th Meeting of the Academic Council of KEMU was held under the Chairmanship of VC KEMU

The 136th meeting of the Academic Council of King Edward Medical University was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayyaz.
On this occasion, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Ijaz Hussain, Deans Professor Shahzad Shams, Professor Saira Afzal, , Professor Muhammad Imran, Registrar Dr. Riasat Ali, CEO and MS Mayo Hospital Professor Muhammad Haroon Hamid, Principal College of Ophthalmology Professor Muhammad Moin, Prof. Ameer Afzal MS Lady Aitchison Hospital and Heads of all departments and newly appointed teaching faculty were also present. Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayyaz expressed his views and said that today it is a moment of joy for all of us and we congratulate the newly appointed professors and and the regularised 38 faculty members of the university cadre.
While addressing the council Vice Chancellor Professor Mahmood Ayyaz said that All of you are the future of King Edward Medical University and in the very near future , you will be the head of your respective departments. As the Vice-Chancellor, I must stand up for the rights of all of you, my job is to look after the people who look after other people but I have only one request from all of you that Consider it your foremost duty to provide the best services to the students and patients coming to the KEMU attached hospitals.
The Vice-Chancellor gave a detailed discussion about the launch of the e-log monitoring system in the university and emphasized its importance to the faculty. He said that after 13 years, we have surpassed The Aga khan university for better performance in placement of our graduates in foreign medical training program.He also showed the Leadership award given to him during the KEMU Alumini meeting at Dallas In the meeting, a plan of action was also decided on the MoU for the training of students of other universities.

He further said that He is grateful to Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Mohsin Naqvi for the appointments of professors as MSs in hospitals attached to KEMU, who trusted the faculty of King Edward. He further elaborated that King Edward Medical University is providing health facilities to the population of Lahore in addition to the whole of Punjab and very soon King Edward Medical University will make clean drinking water available in the market under the name of King’s Water, Prof. Saira Afzal and her team are working on it.

On this occasion, Dean Public Health Professor Saira Afzal informed the House about different Community based projects like Clean drinking water, Paediatric growth formula and various screening programs. She also apprised the council about the journals, inclusion of Annals of KEMU in Impact Factor and JSPARK in HEC.
The Vice-Chancellor directed the faculty of the University to actively participate in the Independence Day celebrations and flag hoisting ceremony at the University and Mayo Hospital. At the end of the meeting, the newly appointed professors were presented with the bouquet by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz which included Prof. Imran Waheed Professor of Cardiology, Prof. Munir Ahmed Professor of psychiatry, Prof. Sajjad Haider Professor of Pathology, Prof. Ambreen Hamid Professor of Pathology and Prof. Saima Ameer Professor of Radiology.
The meeting ended with the token of Thanks by the Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Ijaz Hussain and a group photograph of the whole council.
