A scientific session focused on ‘Trauma Orthopaedics & Allied’ took place in King Edward Medical University

On the second day of the 43rd KEMUCON Annual International Scientific Conference of King Edward Medical University in collaboration with KEMCAANA/KEMCA-UK/KEMCA-PK/APPNA, a scientific session focused on ‘Trauma Orthopaedics & Allied’ took place. Senior faculty members from Orthopaedics and related professions participated in this auspicious event.

Prof. Kazi M. Saeed, Ex HOD & VC KEMU, chaired Session I, co-chaired by Prof. Ashraf Nizami (President PMA), Prof. Rana M. Arshad (Ex HOD Orthopaedics KEMU), Prof. Muhammad Iqbal (HOD Unit I), and Prof. Ashfaq Ahmed )Dean Allied Health Sciences UOL).

Prof. Ali Raza Hashmi (KE 1986), an esteemed KE Alumni, and Ex Professor of Orthopedics SIMS & recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, was acknowledged during this session. The citation on his career was presented by the session moderator, Dr. Subhan Shahid.

Prof. Rana Dilawaiz Nadeem, Ex Chairman Orthopaedics KEMU, chaired Session II, with co-chairmen Prof. Tahseen Riaz (past president of POA), Prof. Faisal Masood (HOD Unit II KEMU), and Dr. Nighat Ansar (Principal School of Physiotherapy Mayo Hospital, Lahore).

The session honored distinguished KE Alumni Prof. Tariq Sohail (KE 1975), Ex Professor of Orthopedics KEMU. The citation on his services was narrated by the session moderator, Dr. Suhail Niazi.

The sessions featured research papers, case series, novel techniques, and rare and interesting cases, providing a valuable learning opportunity for attendees regarding recent advances and best practices in orthopedic surgery and allied fields. The presentations were followed by Q&A sessions and insightful comments from senior faculty members, fostering interaction with the audience.

The distinguished panel commended the efforts of the presenters, offered valuable input, and expressed appreciation for the well-organized presentations and arrangements by Prof. Faisal Masood and his team.
