A Seminar on SCTP in New Born Baby Boys was held in MHL Collaboration with the Association of PSP & SCTP

A SEMINAR on “SAFE CIRCUMCISION TECHNIQUE IN NEWBORN BABY BOYS” was held in Mayo Hospital Lahore by Paediatric surgery department Mayo Hospital Lahore in collaboration with the Association of pediatric surgeons Pakistan & SCTP (safe circumcision training program) Team under Patronage of Prof Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University.
It was organized by Prof Dr. Muhammad Sharif, HOD Paediatric Surgery & Paediatric Burn Unit KEMU/Mayo Hospital, and attended by Dr. Munir Ahmad Malik -MS Mayo Hospital Lahore, Prof Dr. Haroon Hamid HOD and dean of the paediatric medicine Department KEMU/Mayo Hospital, Prof Dr. Faisal Masood head of Orthopedic department Unit II, consultants, Doctors, OT nurses, and paramedics.
A lecture was delivered by Dr. Shazia Moosa, senior manager of SCTP team at the end in which she guided about the correct technique of plastibell application and its indications, prerequisites, post-procedure complications, and management of complications. Also, the myths About circumcision methods were discussed and the queries of participants were addressed.
Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz beautifully explained the history of circumcision and its medical importance as well as its Islamic point of view with the audience and praised the efforts of the chief organizer Prof. Muhammad Sharif Chairman paediatric surgery mayo hospital /KEMU for arranging such seminars and academic activities for the best interest of public & humanity!
(This seminar will be followed by 02 days of Hands-on training in circumcision in pediatric surgery department at Mayo Hospital on the 24th & 25th of May 2023, in which the Participants will be trained for safe circumcision.)
