A tree plantation event was organized under CM’S plantation drive initiative at Lady Aithchison Hospital Lahore on March 29, 20224, hosted by the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Nasir Choudhury, along with the heads of Gynecology Unit 5 Prof. Dr Nadia Khursheed and Unit 4 Prof. Dr. Mehr-un-Nisa respectively. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz. Other esteemed guests that graced the occasion included Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Hospital Lahore, Prof. Dr. Ahsan Noman; Medical Superintendent of Mayo Hospital Lahore, Prof. Dr. Faisal Masood, Registrar of King Edward Medical University, Prof. Dr. Asghar Naqi.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation, particularly in hospital premises. The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of Lady Aitchison Hospital in actively participating in the “Plant for Pakistan” Initiative. During his address, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz emphasized the significance of planting trees, emphasizing their role in improving the environment and overall well-being.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, postgraduate trainees, senior doctors, staff nurses, and medical and paramedical staff of Lady Aithchison Hospital Lahore. The plantation of trees was carried out with zeal and commitment towards the cause. A walk was also conducted for this purpose. Subsequent to the tree plantation activity, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz undertook an extensive visit of the Lady Aitchison Hospital building, which has been undergoing revamping and renovation. During the visit, he provided valuable feedback and suggestions for further improvement.

The event served as a reminder of the hospital’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its role in contributing to a healthier and greener future. The tree plantation activity, along with the visit of Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, fueled a sense of responsibility among the staff and students of Lady Aitchison Hospital towards maintaining a clean and eco-friendly environment.
