Advancements in Cervical Cancer Screening Guiding Prevention with Colposcopy workshop held by LWH

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology ,Unit 2 at Lady Willingdon Hospital, affiliated with King Edward Medical University Lahore, held a workshop titled “Advancements in Cervical Cancer Screening: Guiding Prevention with Colposcopy.”

This collaborative event featured international expertise from Dr. Qadeer Warriach of Saint Mary’s Hospital Newport, along with supervision from Prof. Uzma Hussain and Prof. Kiren Khurshid Malik. Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The workshop commenced with a welcome note from Prof. Kiren Khurshid Malik, followed by introductory remarks from Prof. Uzma Hussain, expressing gratitude for the Vice Chancellor’s support. Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz underscored the significance of cervical cancer screening, highlighting successful strategies in developed nations and the crucial role of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Medical University in this endeavor.

The first day attracted over 50 participants from Lady Willingdon Hospital and other institutions, featuring detailed lectures aimed at enhancing understanding of screening methodologies.
