Alumni of KEMC Class of 1991 Celebrated their 32nd Graduation Anniversary at Patiala block KEMU

Alumni of King Edward Medical College Class of 1991 celebrated their 32nd graduation anniversary at Patiala block King Edward Medical University on December 23, 2023.

The reunion was organized by members of the KEMC Class of 1991 and was graced by distinguished alumni of the Class of 1991 including Prof. Dr. M. Aslam, Professor of Psychiatry at University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, Dr. M. Shafiq Gill, Associate Medical Director at Nottingham University, UK, Prof. Dr. M. Imran Hasan Khan, Principal Sahiwal Medical College and many other nationally and internationally renowned doctors of the Class of 1991.

Notably, graduates of KEMC 1991 who have made a name for themselves in Pakistan’s civil services were also well represented led by Dr. Usman Anwar, Inspector General Police, Punjab, Dr. Tariq Rustam Chohan, Additional IG Training Punjab Police, Dr. Suleman Sultan Rana DIG, Punjab Police and Dr. Sarmad Qureshi Chief Commissioner FBR. Dr. Asad Gilani, Secretary Power Division, Government of Pakistan could not attend in person due to a last minute scheduling conflict but sent his regards to his class fellows and to KEMU faculty and administration.

Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz welcomed the assembled guests to their alma mater and emphasized the essential role alumni play in grooming and supporting the next generation of kemcolians. He also appreciated the crucial support of KE alumni abroad in fulfilling the dreams of hundreds of KE graduates who proceed to the USA, UK and other countries for post-graduate training every year.

Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz also highlighted the achievements of KEMU during his tenure so far including advances in academics, research and infrastructure and encouraged the assembled luminaries to continue their hard work to benefit their alma mater and future generations of kemcolians.

The guests shared stories of their time at KE and snapshots of their life journeys so far. A tour of the University was arranged for the guests to relive their student day memories and the event ended with a sumptuous lunch at King Edward’s majestic Patiala block.
