An urgent meeting regarding the Revamping project of MHL was chaired by the Vice Chancellor KEMU

An urgent meeting regarding the Revamping project of Mayo Hospital was chaired by *Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz,* the Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University. This meeting was convened in response to a special initiative by the Chief Minister of Punjab aimed at revitalizing and upgrading government hospitals. The project has already commenced work in the Accident & Emergency department and is progressing rapidly. The second phase of the project involves the replacement of the OPD block with a modern building.

The project’s objectives include the swift enhancement of the wards within the OPD block of Mayo Hospital, providing state-of-the-art facilities, including operation theaters, and improving the infrastructure to deliver modern patient care and treatment. *Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz,* along with his team, thoroughly reviewed the initial project plan and proposed modifications based on input from department representatives. He also suggested the addition of specific facilities.

The Master plan for this high-priority project was developed by the C&W Department and IDAP and will be executed upon approval from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
The meeting was attended by Pro VC Prof. Ejaz Hussain, Registrar Prof. Asghar Naqi, and representatives from Mayo Hospital’s administration, including CEO Prof. Haroon Hamid, COO Prof. Ahsan Nauman, AMS Dr. Shahbaz Ahmad, and Dr. Bakht Yawar, as well as representatives from IDAP. Various departments involved in the project were represented by Prof. Abrar Ashraf, Prof. Ali Madeeh Hashmi, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Dr. Nadeem Zia, Dr. Shah Jahan, Dr. Nighat Ansar, Dr. Muhammad Akram, Dr. Subhan Shahid and Dr. Suhail Niazi.
