The Caretaker CM of Punjab, inaugurated the upgraded Accident & Emergency block MHL/ KEMU

Historic moments unfolded at Mayo Hospital Lahore.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, inaugurated the upgraded Accident & Emergency block.
The hospital’s 250-bed state-of-the-art emergency block, completed in a remarkable 3 months, stands as the most extensive revamping project undertaken by the government, addressing the country’s largest emergency facility.

CM Mohsin Naqvi commended Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz and his team for their timely completion of the project and commitment to ensuring top-quality facilities. He noted that the free treatment services offered in this setup are now comparable, if not superior, to those in private hospitals. The caretaker Chief minister extended his congratulations to the Secretary of Health, Secretary of C&W, and the IDAP team for successfully managing this mega project.

The revamped Emergency block boasts nine advanced modular operation theatres, digital patient records, a temperature-controlled environment, standard amenities, a modern pharmacy, an integrated pathology lab, a blood bank and 8 private rooms. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted a detailed tour of the facility with inspection of the reception counter, nursing stations, doctors’ rooms, surgical ICU, OT complex, endoscopy room, and other facilities, acknowledging the high standards achieved in the upgrade works.

The event was attended by Provincial Minister of Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Prof. Javed Akram, Minister of Primary & Secondary Health Dr. Jamal Nasir, Chief Secretary, IG of Police, Secretary of Health, Secretary of C&W, Commissioner Lahore Division, CCPO, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, CEO Prof. Ahsan Nauman, COO Prof. Faisal Masood, KEMU faculty, and other officials.
