KEMCOLIAN 1994, visited King Edward Medical University.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Mahmood Ayyaz discussed Artificial intelligence lab and research activities at King Edward Medical University. Prof Saira Afzal, Dean of Public health and Preventive Medicine organized his interactive presentation on “Long COVID and AI Tools”. The recent advancement, practical use of AI and evidence based practices were discussed. Faculty members and students from various academic departments actively participated in the sessions.

In long COVID Dr. Mobeen discussed the multiple phenotypes of long COVID. He discussed the pathophysiology of spike protein disease affecting the endothelial cells especially the mechanism of Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone system disruption. He also discussed the role of ACE2 binding with the spike protein, the resultant increase in angiotensin II and reduction in Angiotensin 1-7. He highlighted how this abnormality results in endothelial inflammation, vasoconstriction and clotting tendencies.

Dr. Mobeen also discussed the muscle fiber phenotype change during the long COVID and the resultant fatigue and post exertional malaise. Dr. Mobeen then discussed the possible management approaches for these pathologies. Once done with the medical discussion, he then presented various AI Tools and the output they produce. He demonstrated Google Gemini as well. He answered the questions of the participants with live demonstration of AI based solutions in research and medical education.

The AI tools practical demonstration was performed for:

  • ChatGPT
  • Google Gemini
  • Synthesia
  • ElevenLabs
  • Dal-E
  • MidJourney
  • Sora

And many more incredible AI tools.

At the end of the session, Dr Mobeen presented a cash award for the best student and appreciation certificates were distributed among the students for the excellent performance.
