Medicine Depart of KEMU conducted a one day state of the art Colonoscopy Hands on Workshop at NMW/MHL

Department of Medicine KEMU conducted a one day state of the art “colonoscopy hands on workshop” at North Medical Ward Mayo hospital Lahore on 06.05.2024 from 9am-3pm in collabration with KEMCA and KEMCANA and Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology.

Prof Dr Israr-ul-haque toor was the host and chief organiser .Prof mahmood ayyaz , the vice chancellor of the university participated in the workshop and expressed his concerns on the rising incidence of the colorectal cancers specially among the young population and emphasised on the prevention and screening of colorectal cancers .

He also pointed out the importance of learning the art of colonoscopy by the younger generation of physicians and surgeons . He specially thanked the foreign and local Alumini and faculty Athar saeed and prof Ghias in Nabi tayyab for taking time from their enormous comittments and coming down to kemu to teach and impart knowledge and skills.

Prof Faisal Masud MS Mayo Hospital and Prof Muhammad Imran Registrar KEMU were the guest of Honor. Dr Athar Ahmed Saeed a renowned gastroentrologist from UK joined as the foreign faculty of the workshop.Among the national faculty were Prof Ghias un Nabi Tayyab,Prof Akif Dilshad,Prof Shumail Zafar,Prof Shahid Sarwar,Prof Asif Gul,Dr Bilal Nasir,Dr Shafqat Rasool,Dr Ghias-ul-hassan,Dr Junaid Mustafa & Dr Ibtesam Amjid.Dr Ali Asad Khan was the moderator of the workshop.

The workshop included state of the art lectures followed by Hands on sessions by the expert faculty. Prominent faculty members who joined were Prof Dr Adil Iqbal,Dr Somia Iqtadar, Dr Naeem Aslam,Dr Maimoona Ghias,Dr Balakh Sher, Dr Zafar Niaz, Dr Mian Sajjad,Dr Kamran Yousaf and Dr Kashif Bashir.

It was well attended by large number of faculty and residents of Gastroenterology, medicine and Surgery,from various Teaching and non-teaching institutes.
