Department of Radiology, Mayo Hospital/King Edward Medical University, Lahore celebrated

World Radiography Day on 8th November, 2023 in conference room of Surgical Tower, Mayo hospital. It is celebrated throughout the world to remember the first X ray image taken by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. It was start of new era where Radiology evolved. The Ceremony was attended by large number of Radiographers and Radiologists. Prof Dr Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor, King Edward Medical University, Prof Dr Haroon Hamid CEO, Mayo Hospital and Prof Dr Ahsan Nauman, COO of Mayo Hospital. Dr Shahzad Karim Bhatti, Associate Professor of Radiology talked about past, present and future of Radiology. Role of artificial intelligence in the future of Radiology was elaborated. Mr Nadeem Senior Radiographer briefed about radiation protection for Radiographer and general Public. It was followed by Caked Cutting ceremony, which was done by Prof Mahmood Ayyaz, Prof Haroon Hamid, Prof Ahsan Nauman and Prof Saima Ameer, HOD Radiology Department. Prof Mahmood Ayyaz shared his thoughts about need of sincerity and devotions towards patients.

As a Surgeon, he emphasized the need of Radiology in every clinical setting. Prof Haroon Hamid talked about importance of radiographers in the hospital, without whom no radiology department is complete. He mentioned the hard work and devotion with which the radiology department is giving services round the clock. Prof Ahsan Nauman, also shared his thoughts about role of radiology in the running of hospital. Prof Dr Saima Ameer, in the end said the vote of thanks to all the worthy guests who attended the ceremony inspite of their very busy schedule and all the radiographer and radiology staff.
