Health Minister of SH&MED attended the closing ceremony of the 164th Annual Sports Week of KEMU

Provincial Minister of Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique attended the closing ceremony of the 164th Annual Sports Week of King Edward Medical University as a Chief Guest. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Ijaz Hussain, Registrar Prof. Syed Asghar Ali Naqi, Prof. Waris Farooka, Prof Yar Muhammad, Prof. Muhammad Sharif, Prof. Farhana Sajjad, Prof. Kiran Khurshid, Prof. Nadia Khurshid, Prof. Syed Raza Ali Shah, Prof. Iqbal Mirza, Prof. Mustahsan Basheer, Prof. Uzma Hussain, Prof. Meh rul Nisa and a large number of other faculty members were present. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz along with Sports Secretaries Salman Khan and Ushna Azam presented a bouquet of flowers to Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique.

Provincial Minister of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique in his address to the participants of the Sports Gala said that the medical institutions of Punjab are among the best schools of Pakistan. KEMCOLIANS have always enhanced the reputation of Pakistan through their services.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that we will promote the best medical education in Punjab and improve the post-graduation facilities in the medical institutions of the province. Our children should focus on physical activities along with education.

Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz said that King Edward Medical University has organized wonderful extracurricular activities for students in which students participated with great enthusiasm . Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz thanked Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique for his first official visit after taking oath. He added that students should master sports and games as well, besides studies. He also said that unnecessary use of mobile phones can lead to mental health issues while sports and games keep our physical and mental health alive. He also congratulated Sports President Prof. Abrar Ashraf Ali and Sports Secretaries Salman Khan and Ushna Azam.

The flag march past and KEMU formation was presented to chief guest. The march past was lead by Wajahat Ullah Ismail along with the sports secretaries Salman Khan and Ushna Azam followed by the sports club cabinet. The gymkhana events included different races for the students as well as for the faculty members. Everyone participated enthusiastically and shared the spirits of sportsmanship. It also included tug of war between students and the faculty members, musical chair, and the dramatic plays was performed by different classes.

The Registrar Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi and the Staff President Prof. Abrar Ashraf Ali awarded prizes and shields to all the students who got positions in different activities of sports. The 164th Annual Sports Week 2024 ended successfully, and it was all due to the hard work, dedication and leadership skills of the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, Prof Abrar Ashraf Ali, Sports Secretaries Salman Khan and Ushna Azam and their sports cabinet.
