IMM Mock examination conducted on 06/09/2023 by South Surgical Ward, Mayo Hospital Lahore.

The event started with the recitation of The Holy Quran, followed by an introductory lecture on the topic of “Basics of Radiology in surgery” by Dr. Zeeshan Sarwar Associate Professor, SSW. The worthy vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz delivered a brief lecture about exam orientation. The introductory session was followed by a short tea break.

The event was also supervised by Prof. Dr. Abrar Ashraf Ali, head of department, SSW. Examination was conducted in collaboration with East, North, and West surgical wards. The faculty of each ward joined in for setting stations of OSCE and interactive sessions and was present the whole time to make the exam conduction streamlined and effective. 42 candidates from various hospitals and districts participated in the exam, which was based on the pattern of the IMM TOACS, consisting of 15 interactive stations, 5 non interactive stations.

Participants were divided into two batches for the exam and were asked for feedback afterwards. The faculty answered their queries about the actual exam, pointed out the common mistakes and how to avoid them, delivered the presentations with clarity and put emphasis on the main objective of conducting the Mock exam including improving the objectivity, identifying the weak areas , approach towards TOACS , dealing with the time constraints and familiarizing oneself with the exam environment and pattern to enhance the confidence and preparedness for the actual exam. The event was finished off by lunch.
