Inauguration Ceremony of Mayo Burns Clinical Lab held in the Plastic Surgery & Burn Centre of KEMU/ MHL

The INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF “MAYO BURNS CLINICAL LAB” was held in the Plastic Surgery & Burn Centre of King Edward Medical University/ Mayo Hospital Lahore. Prof Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University was the chief guest who inaugurated the clinical lab which was established by BURNS & CHILDREN CARE CHARITY ORGANIZATION, BCCCO. The occasion was organized by Prof Dr. Muhammad Mustehsan Bashir, HOD Plastic Surgery & Burn Centre KEMU, and Dr. Umer NAZIR Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Haroon Hamid CEO of Mayo Hospital, Dr. Munir Ahmad Malik -MS Mayo Hospital, Consultants, doctors, nurses, and paramedics of Mayo Burn Centre.
The Burn & Children Care Charity Organization (BCCCO) is a nonprofit charity organization serving the Plastic Surgery & Burn Centre of Mayo Hospital, Lahore since 2003.
BCCCO is dedicated to providing free medical treatment to underprivileged burn patients. BCCCO provides them with essential life-saving medicines and medical equipment.
To improve the outcome of Burn patients it is prudent to have a timely culture reporting which was not possible due to the heavy burden on the pathology dept of King Edward Medical University and Mayo Hospital. Therefore, BCCCO decided to support the burn victims by establishing a new fully equipped Clinical lab on the 4th floor of the surgical tower inside Mayo Burn Centre, KEMU Lahore. The culture machines (both blood and wound) worth Rs. 4.5 Million were purchased and donated by the Organization.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz appreciated the contributions made by BCCCO in burn care over the years and explained the importance of Wound cultures in burns. He also praised the efforts of the chief organizer Prof. Muhammad Mustehsan Bashir and Dr. Umer NAZIR for putting so much effort into Burn care.
President BCCCO: Ms. Samina Manzar, Prof. Yaqoob Kazi Ex-HOD Paediatric Medicine KEMU, Dr. Maryam Kazi, and Ms. Naghma Treasurer BCCCO were Present and represented the Organization.
