Mock Examination for FCPS ll General Surgery Conducted in SSW/MHL on Behalf of Society of Surgeons Pakistan

Mock examination for FCPS ll General surgery was conducted today by South Surgical Ward, Mayo Hospital Lahore on behalf of Society of surgeons, Pakistan.

The event started with an introductory lecture on the topic of “ Tips and tricks for short and long cases” by Dr. Zeeshan Sarwar Associate Professor, SSW. It was followed by worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz’s brief address to candidates about exam orientation. The introductory session was followed by a short tea break.

It was conducted in collaboration with East, North, and West surgical wards of Mayo hospital Lahore.

36 candidates from various hospitals and districts participated in the exam, which was based on the pattern of the FCPS part ll, General surgery. Participants were split into eight batches for the exam comprising of both the short as well long cases.

Exam was followed by discussion between the faculty and candidates and a feedback session. The faculty answered their queries about the actual exam, pointed out the common mistakes and how to avoid them, identifying the weak areas, dealing with time constraints and familiarizing oneself with the exam environment.
The event was finished off by lunch.
