Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, The VC KEMU, visited the newly inaugurated Accident & Emergency Block at Mayo Hospital

Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, the Vice-Chancellor King Edward Medical University, visited the newly inaugurated Accident & Emergency Block at Mayo Hospital and officially initiated its operations.

The revamped emergency block has increased its capacity from 170 beds to 250 beds, making it the largest emergency department in Pakistan. The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi for this significant project, which he described as a valuable gift to the people. He further mentioned that the emergency block would be operationalized gradually to ensure optimal patient care.

Accompanied by Mayo Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Prof. Ahsan Nauman, Chief Operating Officer Prof. Faisal Masood, Prof. Ameer Afzal, Prof. Yar Muhammad, Dr. Kashif Naseer, Dr. Hafiz Sajid, Dr. Salman Kazmi, and Dr. Suhail Niazi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz conducted a thorough inspection of the A&E department. He personally observed the computerized slip-making process, examined patients, and provided guidance to ensure the smooth functioning of the facility.
