Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz was awarded the Academic Excellence Award 2023 by the Honorable Governor Punjab

Another Honor in the name of King Edward Medical University and it’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Mahmood Ayyaz.
Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayyaz was awarded the Academic Excellence Award 2023 by the Honorable Governor Punjab Mr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman for the outstanding services in the field of Medical Education of Pakistan, his commitment and devotion for reforming the institution to top ranking.

A few days ago he was nominated for Sitara-e- Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of your excellent services in the field of Medicine. He is an expert in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery and Robotic surgery . He is one of the pioneers and a leading Robotic surgeon in the country and abroad and has performed more than 200 successful robotic surgeries. He was also a former Principal in SIMS.

Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz is the first medical educationist who introduced Trauma Courses in Pakistan and spread these courses all over Pakistan. He has trained hundreds of post-graduate doctors and surgeons across Pakistan, published international articles, and contributed chapters to foreign surgical books.
Professor Mahmood Ayyaz as the Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University established the Student Facilitation Center, launched an e-log monitoring system, and transferred Quaid-e-Azam Block to the solar system, While work on academic, research, and other development projects in the university is being done on an accelerated pace.

The Students of King Edward Medical University have secured the highest number of seats under the US Residency Program this year. And , the university’s scientific journal, Annals of KEMU, has also achieved the impact factor status. The Vice-Chancellor is determined that the University should be known for academic excellence and its pursuit for its rightful place in the academia of the Medical field .
