The 5th International Conference on Innovative Biological and Public Health Research-23 was held at GCU Lahore.

The 5th International Conference on Innovative Biological and Public Health Research (IBPHR-23) was held at Government College University Lahore.
The inauguration ceremony of the 5th IBPHR was held at Bukhari Auditorium GC University Lahore. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Chairperson Department of Zoology welcomed the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, the Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University, Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Shahid Mehmood Baig, and Prof Dr. Asghar Zaidi, VC of GC University, Lahore, International and national invited speakers and participants from 34 universities and Institutes of Higher Education Department.
The Honourable Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz in his introductory remarks welcomed the participants and shared his views about the role of scientific conferences in promoting research culture and importance of Allied Medical fields to share the burden of patients.
He further said that the aim of this conference was to provide a platform for Researchers, Scientists, Academicians, and Industrial professionals to present their innovative research in the field of biology and public health. He further said that this conference will also provide opportunities for the participants to exchange ideas, share knowledge and experiences and establish research collaboration.
Vice Chancellor Professor Mahmood Ayyaz shared memories of three generations of Ravians and had a very lively interactions with the students of GCU faculty and participants. He further said that GCU and KEMU have a historical background, and the Alumni of these institutions have their name and position in the whole world. He invited the students of GCU to share the platform of biological research with KEMU and use KE facilities of advanced biomedical labs, Artificial Intelligence and genetic studies
Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi in his address warmly welcomed the invited dignitaries and strongly encouraged the young researchers to come forward and play a role in the public health area. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi and Chief Guests distributed “Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gold Medal”, “Dr. Nusrat Jahan Gold medal” and “Sabira Shafi Gold meda”. The inauguration ceremony was concluded with souvenirs presentation to the Guests, speakers and panelists followed by tea break.
After tea break, there was a panel discussion about “Current status challenges, and Scope of Biological Research and Public Health in Pakistan”. The panellists were Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, Dr. Abdul Rauf Shakoori, Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Prof. Saira Afzal, Dr. Muhammad Tariq and Dr. Nauman Aftab. Prof. Dr. Asghar Ziadi moderated this session. The panel recommended that there is dire need of collaboration between different universities so that the basic research can be translated to clinics. The panel also emphasize that the research facilities should be better and incentives should be provided to the exceptional researchers. Prof. Dr. Joseph J. Bove from USA presented “Do not speak beyond the quality of your data”. Prof. V.P. Unyal from India delivered a lecture on “invertebrates as bioindicators for accessing eco-system health in the western Himalayan protected areas of India.”
