61st Meeting of Syndicate chaired by Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz

The 61st meeting of Syndicate KEMU was held. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, while Dr. Riasat Ali performed the duties of the Syndicate Secretary.
On this occasion, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, Member Public Service Commission Dr. Pervez Ahmed Khan, Former President Bank of Punjab Mr. Hamesh Khan, Vice Chancellor Punjab University Professor Khalid Mehmood, Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University Professor Tanveer Ahmad Khaliq, Additional Secretary SHC&MED Mrs. Shahida Farrukh, Deputy Secretary Finance Mrs. Qurat- Ul- Ain, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Ijaz Hussain, CEO Mayo Hospital Professor Muhammad Haroon Hamid, Dean Professor Saira Afzal, Professor Nakhshab Chaudhry, Professor Abrar Ashraf, Professor, Zohra Khanum, MSs from attached Hospitals participated.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the ongoing and completed projects in the university and informed the members of the syndicate of KEMU about the plans.
The Vice-Chancellor informed the participants about the launch of the e-log system in the university, the establishment of a student facilitation center, the establishment of a harassment portal, research projects, solar panel at Quaid-e-Azam block, and IT equipped Modern library for students, an overhead bridge, a forensic lecture theatre, and lift for girl’s hostel. He also informed about the progress of robot and robotic surgery at Mayo Hospital. He said that all our efforts are for the patients and we can provide the best treatment and facilities to all the patients who come to the attached hospitals of KEMU.
In the meeting, approval of investment funds, pay fixation allowances of professors of university cadre, appointment of teaching faculty on adhoc and contract basis, appointment of deans, Prof. Shahzad Shams as Dean of Surgery and Allied, Prof. Muhammad Imran Dean of Medicine and Allied and Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi was appointed as Dean Allied Health Sciences, in the meeting Prof. Mohammad Moin was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, Professor Fawad Nasrullah as the Chairman of the Department of Urology, while Prof. Zahra Khanum was approved as the Chairperson of the Department of Gynecology.
The syndicate members under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz appreciated their performance for the university.
Former President Bank of Punjab Mr. Hamesh Khan guided about the university investment funds and appreciated the e-log system.
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Mehmood appreciated the appointments of teaching faculty in the university and assured further cooperation in this regard.
Member Punjab Public Service Commission Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed Khan said that being a KEMCOLIAN, I pay tribute to the Vice-Chancellor and the administration for the recent development of the university and I am always available to serve the motherland.
On this occasion, Mr. Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, who is one of the most reliable and well-known legal experts, said that it is a matter of pride for me to come as a syndicate member in the best medical school in the country, the Vice Chancellor is a dynamic personality whose tireless efforts for the University and its attached hospitals are providing an exemplary role for which I congratulate the Vice-Chancellor and his faculty. I pray that this journey of development continues. As a member of the Syndicate, he played his full role in pay fixations of the professors and issued instructions to fill up the vacant posts in the university on a priority basis.
