The Closing Ceremony of the 163rd Annual Sports Week Concluded with the Same Energy as it was on the First Day

The closing ceremony of the 163rd Annual Sports Week concluded with the same energy as it was on the first day. The Chief Guests on the closing day were none other than our Sports Minister Mr. Wahab Riaz and the Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal graced the event with their presence. Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz and Sports President Prof. Dr. Abrar Ashraf Ali along with the Sports Secretaries Muhammad Raif and Hamail Malik Gunjial welcomed the guests and thanked them for their presence.

On this occasion, many professors including former Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof. Aamir Zaman Khan, Principal SIMS Prof. Zohra Khanum, Prof. Jalil ud Doula, Prof. Shamshad Rasool Awan, Pro VC Ijaz Hussain, Registrar Dr. Riasat Ali, Prof. Waris Farooqa, Prof. Tehreem Fatima, Prof. Waseem Hayat Khan, Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi, Prof. Saqib Sohail, Prof. Yar Muhammad, Prof. Syed Raza Ali Shah, Prof. Farhana Sajjad, Prof. Shandana Tarique, Prof. Mehr un Nisa and many other faculty members were present.

On this occasion, Sports Minister Punjab Wahab Riaz said that he felt very great visiting the historical institution, King Edward Medical University. He further added that the Punjab Government has aimed to excel in sports and promote such games all across Punjab. He also said that sports are very vital for your health. Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University expressed his words by saying that being a KEMCOLIAN himself, it feels so great to visit your institution. He further added that students should master sports and games as well, besides studies. He also said that unnecessary use of mobile phones can lead to mental health issues while sports and games keep our physical and mental health alive.

He also congratulated Sports President Prof. Abrar Ashraf and Sports Secretaries Muhammad Raif and Hamayl Gunjiyal. He said that every year the Annual Sports Gala is held in which students participate with great enthusiasm. He further said that sports keep our brains healthy and alive. The students of King Edward Medical University perform outclass in curricular and extracurricular activities as well.

The Vice-Chancellor awarded prizes and shields to all the students who got positions in different activities of sports.
