The department of General Surgery of King Edward Medical University today hosted a successful seminar on Robotic Surgery. The program started with the recitation from Holy Quran by Dr Hafiz Mahmood, Professor Dr Syed Asghar Naqi extended a warm welcome to the participants and delegates from various hospitals of Lahore. Keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University and an eminent Robotic Surgeon of the country.

He showed the audience various procedures done Robotically like rectal cancer and cholecystectomy. He emphasised the importance of learning new skills. Later on Professor Waris Farooka elaborated the importance of professional societies in the development of professionals. Prof Kazi Muhammad Saeed, Ex VC KEMU stressed upon the role of professional societies in extending moral and legal support to its members.

Chief guest of the Occasion Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, President CPSP ,who is also VC of FJMU and Past President of Society of Surgeons, Centre congratulated Prof Mahmood Ayyaz and Prof Asghar Naqi on holding such a wonderful meeting. Prof Khalid extended best wishes and prayers to Prof Waris Farooka and his team for success in the upcoming elections of Society of Surgeons Pakistan, Lahore Chapter.

Professor Khalid Masood Gondal also shared his long association with the contesting candidates in a very motivational and affectionate way. The Seminar ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. ABRAR Ashraf Ali, who thanked all the attendees of the session and Vice Chancellor Prof Mehmood Ayaz and Prof Waris Farooka for their illustrious talks.
