First Convocation of AHS, DPT and COVAS Graduates under the Management of KEMU

The first convocation of Allied Health Sciences, DPT and COVAS Graduates under the management of King Edward Medical University was held. The Chief guest of the convocation was Provincial Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz welcomed the chief guest and participants. On this occasion, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ijaz Hussain, Dean Allied Health Sciences, Registrar KEMU Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi, Prof. Muhammad Moin, Prof. Saima Amir, Prof. Irfan Azmat Ullah Khawaja, Prof. Ali Madeeh Hashmi, Dr. Nighat ansar and other faculty members were present.

Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Sarwar took the oath of service from the graduates of Allied Health Sciences. The provincial health minister Prof. Javed Akram distributed gold medals and degrees to the successful students. Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz addressed the participants and highlighted the institutional performance and various programs in detail.
In his address at the convocation, the caretaker provincial health minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram said that one should always dream big to realize dreams. A doctor’s success lies in the prayers of his patients. Prof. Javed Akram said, “I am proud to be a KEMCOLIAN.” All our achievements where we are today are due to our parents. May Allah Ta’ala grant us the opportunity to serve Pakistan in the true sense.

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram further said that special attention is being paid to quality research in the medical institutions of Punjab. According to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, we are trying to upgrade the health facilities to the people. He congratulated the successful Allied Health Sciences graduates and their parents.

In the convocation the Gold medals were given to 124 students and silver medals to 102, 72 students secured the first 3 positions while a total of 555 candidates stood successful. Vice Chancellor welcomed and congratulated all the students on the first convocation of Allied Health Sciences. He especially congratulated Dean Allied Health Sciences Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi for organizing this convocation, whose special efforts made it possible.

Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz further said, ‘Dear graduates, you are also a proud alumnus of the great medical institution you studied in. Wherever you go, you will be known as KEMCOLIANS. Leave no stone unturned in the service of the ailing humanity, its reward is in this world and the hereafter as well, he added, consider it a golden opportunity to help someone in pain and help him.
