Today the ‘GYNAE ONCOLOGY SESSION KEMCAANA 2023’ was held at the Forensic Auditorium KEMU

Today the “GYNAE ONCOLOGY SESSION KEMCAANA 2023” was held at the Forensic Auditorium, King Edward Medical University ,Lahore. The event was organized by Prof. Kiren Khursheed Malik, under the umbrella of Gynae Department, KEMU. It was patronized by Vice Chancellor, KEMU, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz.

The event started with Recitation from Holy Quran. It was followed by Welcome note by Dr. Kiren Khurshid Malik and opening of the session by Prof. Uzma Hussain Chair, department of Obs & Gynae KEMU.

Dr. Uzma Hussain, Chairman Department of Obs. and Gynae welcomed the distinguished guests and appreciated the manner in which Gynae oncology was taking its roots .The audience included faculty of postgraduate residents from KEMU and other hospitals.

The first session included lectures by various aspects of endometrial and Ovarian cancer by Drs. Najm u Din and Amjad Zafar. The session went well and intrigued the audience well who had lot of questions in their mind.

This was followed by PANEL DISCUSSION which included eminent gynecologists and oncologists of Lahore including Profs. Aisha Malik, Tayyaba Wasim, Mehr un Nisa, Nadia Khurshid, Dr. Rab Nawaz Mekan and Dr. Sadia from INMOL. The subject of Cervical Cancer was discussed in detail and recent advances in the management dominated the discussion.

The last session, the plenary session was chaired by Prof. Maryam Malik. The speakers for the session included Dr. Rab Nawaz Mekan and Dr. Sadia. They talked about recent advances in the systemic treatment of Endometrial CA. It was followed by talk on Role of Vaginal Brachytherapy in Recurrent Endometrial CA by Dr. Sadia. The last deliberation of session was by Col. Sameed Hussain. He talked about impact of interstitial Brachytherapy in CA cervix.

The event ended with vote of thanks, shield distribution and a group photo.
