VC KEMU Organized a Workshop in Collaboration with the PPRA to Raise Awareness Among Faculty Members

Vice-Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, along with Dean of Surgery and Allied Specialties, Prof. Shahzad Shams, organized a workshop in collaboration with the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority to raise awareness among faculty members of KEMU about the rules and framework of PPRA.Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ijaz Hussain, Registrar Dr. Riasat Ali, CEO/MS Mayo Hospital Prof. Muhammad Haroon Hamid, along with Deans, Members of the Academic Council, and others were also present on this occasion.

During the workshop, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz welcomed MD PPRA, Mr. Waqar Azim, on behalf of the faculty members. He emphasized that the main function of PPRA is to ensure the transparent utilization of public funds. He mentioned that, as per the instructions of the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Mohsin Raza Naqvi all hospitals matters and procurement have been conducted with transparency and this workshop is a further step to enhance the capacity of the university faculty members for state of the art procurements. The heads of each institution and its departments need to be aware of the PPRA rules and framework. Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz further expressed his confidence that King Edward Medical University has always strictly followed PPRA’s procedures in handling funds and making purchases. The workshop also focused on educating participants about the time frame and steps involved in the procurement process.

MD PPRA, Mr. Waqar Azim said that it is a matter of pride for me to come to a historic institution like King Edward Medical University. PPRA is ready to cooperate with the doctor community in keeping with the system of transparency. He said that in the future, the support of the PPRA administration will continue with King Edward Medical University. At the end of the workshop, the Vice Chancellor thanked MD PPRA Mr. Waqar Azim on behalf of the university administration and faculty and hoped to look forward to coaching the faculty of King Edward in the future. In the end, Mr. Waqar Azeem MD PPRA was presented with the university shield of honor for his contribution towards KEMU.
