VC of KEMU, presided over a meeting with the team of Archaeology & the (C&W) to discuss restoration projects

Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, presided over a significant meeting with the team from the Directorate General of Archaeology Mr Shozaib Saeed and the Communication & Works Department (C&W) to discuss various restoration and renovation projects for Mayo Hospital Lahore.

Prof Mahmood Ayyaz specially thanked for the the Initiative of the Chief minister Sayed mohsin Raza Naqvi and secretaries Raja Jehangir , AliJan Khan and Sohail sahib , The meeting specifically focused on the restoration /renovation projects for the AVH and ENT wards of Mayo Hospital. Attendees included Mr. Shozeb Saeed, Director General of Archaeology, along with his team of technical experts, Mr. Moeed from the C&W Department, Prof. Asghar Naqi (Registrar KEMU), Dr. Bakht Yawar (AMS P&D), Dr. Adil (AMS Admin), Dr. Suhail, and Dr. Salman representing Mayo Hospital.

Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz and DG Archaeology meticulously reviewed the proposals from the C&W Department, thoroughly discussing each aspect of the restoration of the buildings. During the meeting, various crucial proposals were put forward. It was agreed that C&W would present workable solutions for both buildings in a follow-up meeting, including revised cost estimates.

Mr. Shozeb Saeed assured that the Directorate of Archaeology would actively support this initiative, with their team providing guidance and consultation on every aspect of the project to preserve the heritage. The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and quality in the project, given the historical value of the buildings.

The team conducted a detailed inspection of both wards, paying special attention to the minute details of the issues identified by the C&W experts and hospital administration.

At the end of the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz expressed gratitude to DG Archaeology Mr Shozaib Saeed and his team for their valuable contribution and dedication to the project.
