Walk on The World Contraception Day was Organized by the Gynae/Obs Department LWH/LAH/KEMU

Walk on The World Contraception Day was organized by the gynae/obs department KEMU on 26th September 2023 under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz and Prof. Zohra Khanum in Patiala block King Edward Medical University.

The Chief organizer was Professor Dr. Nadia Khurshid, HOD ob-gyn unit five of lady wellington Hospital . Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof.Dr.Mahmood Ayyaz, Chairperson ob-gyn Department Professor Dr. Zohra Khanum, Professor Dr. Uzma Hussain, Professor Dr. Kiran Khurshid, Prof. Dr. Meher un Nisa, Dr. Zaira Tahir, incharge family planning department,70 participants including consultants, postgraduate residents, House officers, DMS and staff nurses graced the occasion. Professor Dr Nadia Khurshid, HOD ob-gyn unit V . LAH welcomed the participants.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz appreciated the team’s efforts in organizing such a wonderful walk and highlighted the importance of contraception. Prof.Zohra Khanum addressed and guided the participants about different methods of contraception. The red theme was followed by all participants to show solidarity with the power of option. A cake-cutting ceremony was followed by a walk in front of the Patiala block.

Activities carried out on World Contraception Day in Lady Aitchison Hospital included a learning session and demonstration of various methods of contraception in the skill lab and also established information desk in the outpatient department, and free delivery of contraceptives by family planning staff. The ceremony ended with a group photo and a vote of thanks.
