Work Shop conducted in KEMU Hands on Vascular Repair on Animal Specimens with collaboration of CMH

Work Shop conducted in King Edward Medical University at Department of Orthopedic Surgery Unit 1 On “Hands on Vascular Repair On Animal Specimens” with special collaboration of Vascular Surgery Department of CMH Lahore on 21 October 2023. Dr.Muhammad Akram was the Course Director and Dr.Sardar Waqas Azam, Dr.Syed Ali Raza Sherazi and Dr.Faheem Mubashir Farooqi were the Chief Organisors. Trainees and specialist Doctors from all over Punjab attended the workshop.

Workshop was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Akram started the workshop and explained the basics of common vascular injuries. Professor Dr. Faisal Masood(HOD orthopedic unit 2) enlightened the importance of timely management of vascular injuries and their outcomes. Lt. Colonel Dr. Hafiz Khalid(HOD vascular surgery dept. CMH Lahore) explained the principles of simple and complex vascular injuries management in trauma cases.
He explained tips and tricks of vascular repair (basic and advance concepts) by live audio-visual demonstration on animal specimens.

Hands on Vascular Repair on Animal specimen was performed by every participant under direct supervision of skilled teams of CMH Lahore and Mayo hospital. Attendees were instructed to perform “End to End ” and “End to Side” anastomosis President Pakistan Orthopedics Association(POA) Professor Dr. Tahseen Riaz was the Guest of honour of this Acadamic Activity. He emphasized the role of vascular injuries management in trauma case and praised Orthopedic Surgery department KEMU/MHL for arranging such academic activities.
