Caretaker Provincial Health Minister participated as a Chief Guest in the ceremony of International Nursing Day at KEMU

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram participated as a Chief Guest in the ceremony organized on the occasion of International Nursing Day at King Edward Medical University. In the ceremony, Registrar, Dr. Riasat Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ijaz Hussain, Principal Bilqis Akhter, Vice Principal College of Nursing, Naveeda Aslam, Nursing Superintendent Mayo Hospital Tahira Khaton, and a large number of nurses participated in the event.
In his address to the participants of the event, the Caretaker Provincial Health Minister, Dr. Javed Akram, said that the nurses play a fundamental role in the treatment of patients. We are bringing revolutionary reforms for the betterment of the nursing sector of Punjab.
A Centre of Excellence for the Department of Nursing will be established at King Edward Medical University. I wish that the future a nurse may become a Vice Chancellor or minister of health. We have to create role models in the nursing sector. The provincial Health Minister said that we are going to build a new nursing school at PKLI. The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, wants the improvement of the nursing department. Allah has blessed Pakistan with every thing. King Edward Medical University is in my blood and in my family’s blood and I am absolutely proud to be a KEMCOLIAN. Every patient who comes to the hospital should be treated as a family member. We have to get their prayers by serving the ailing humanity. InshAllah, we will take the Nursing Department to the next level.
Vice-Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz said that Today, we gather here on a very special occasion to celebrate International Nurses Day. It is a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring the incredible contributions of nurses around the world. On behalf of all those whose lives have been touched by the compassionate care and unwavering dedication of nurses, I extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you.
He told the nurses present here today, and to those across the globe, I want you to know that your work does not go unnoticed. Your tireless efforts, your compassion, and your commitment to the well-being of others are truly inspiring. You are beacons of light in times of darkness, providing care and comfort to those who need it most.
He further said that the World’s Health System cannot exist without active participation of the nursing cadre. He said that nursing education is different from other forms of education as through this education we impart health and we must impart health with respect dignity and honor. In conclusion, I want to express my deepest appreciation to all the nurses who dedicate their lives to caring for others. Your unwavering commitment to the well-being of ailing humanity is an inspiration to us all. Today, and every day, we celebrate your selflessness, compassion, and the positive impact you make in the world.
