Introduction
Bushra Maqbool is the Principal of the College of Nursing and a distinguished Grade 20 Nursing Officer at King Edward Medical University. With over 17 research papers to her name and two Gold Medals in her field, she is recognized for her academic excellence. Bushra also serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Studies for Nursing at King Edward Medical University, contributing significantly to the advancement of nursing education.
Her nursing journey began at the School of Nursing DHQ Hospital in Jhelum, where she excelled as the top scorer in both her three-year Nursing and one-year Midwifery courses. Bushra earned the “Student of the Year” award twice. She furthered her education with a BSc degree from Punjab University, specializing in CCU at the Post Graduate College of Nursing Punjab, where she earned a Gold Medal in Nursing Management. She was later selected by the British Council and the Federal Government to study Community Health Nursing at Khon Kaen University in Thailand, where she was awarded the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal by the Government of Thailand.
Bushra’s professional experience includes significant leadership roles, such as serving as Additional Director General Nursing Academic Punjab and holding positions as Censor at the University of Health Sciences and Examiner at Fatima Jinnah Medical College University. She has also contributed to research, authoring papers for Khon Kaen University, the Post Graduate College of Nursing, and the World Health Organization. Her international experience includes serving in a government delegation to study nursing care in hospitals across China.
