A Hands-on workshop on ‘Initial Trauma Management’ was organized by Accident & Emergency Department King Edward Medical University, Mayo Hospital Lahore supervised by Prof. Yar Muhammad.
Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University was the Chief Guest & the Patron in Chief. Prof. Muhammad Haroon Hamid, Chairman Dept. of Paediatrics & Controller Examination KEMU was the Guest of Honour.
Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz in his address shared the burden of trauma & emphasized the importance of Initial Trauma Management in saving lives. He appreciated the efforts of the Department of Accident & Emergency for organizing a useful workshop that will help residents to polish the clinical skills.
The Multi-disciplinary faculty included Prof. Zahra Ishrat, Prof. Farrukh Afzal, Prof. Yar Muhammad, Prof. Syed Raza Naqvi, Dr. Zeeshan Sarwar, Dr. Balakh Sher, Dr. Kashif Naseer and Dr. Suhail Niazi.
More than 50 participants from KEMU, Mayo & other hospitals attended the workshop with lectures from senior KEMU Faculty and were trained in all aspects of management of patients of Trauma. Workshop covered each feature of the trauma through interactive and hands on stations.
The workshop was a collaborative effort by Departments of A&E, Anesthesia, Chest Surgery, Radiology and all four units of Surgery.
The event was a pre-conference workshop as part of 44th KEMUCON, an Annual International Scientific Conference of King Edward Medical University in collaboration with KEMCAANA/ KEMCA-UK/KEMCA-PK/ APPNA.
