
A Historic Milestone in Medical Education at King Edward Medical University
King Edward Medical University, Lahore has successfully conducted its first-ever Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for postgraduate students marking a major breakthrough in modernizing clinical assessments in Pakistan. This transformative initiative was implemented under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, with a strong emphasis on fairness, objectivity, and clinical competence.
The initiative received unwavering institutional support, particularly from Registrar KEMU, Prof. Dr. Syed Asghar Naqi, who played a key role in ensuring administrative coordination and facilitating the smooth execution of the examination process.
The Examination Department, led by Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Muhammad Haroon Hamid, showcased outstanding planning and execution. Special appreciation goes to Dr. Zeeshan Sarwar, whose relentless efforts included multiple dry runs, cross-departmental coordination, checklist development, and IT system integration to ensure a seamless and transparent process.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz lauded the collective efforts and reaffirmed KEMU’s commitment to academic excellence.
