National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty Inaugurated at KEMU
The “National Outreach program for Higher Education Faculty” was launched at King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on January 6, 2024. Organized by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, in collaboration with KEMU, this comprehensive program aims to enhance the skills of young faculty members.
Program Objectives
This four-week learning program focuses on accelerating the transfer of essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes in three critical dimensions of a successful faculty career:
1. *Teaching & Learning*: Enhancing pedagogical skills to create engaging learning experiences.
2. *Applied Research*: Developing research capabilities to contribute to the academic community.
3. *Professional Practice*: Cultivating professionalism and leadership skills for effective academic management.
Inauguration and First-Day Proceedings
The program was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor KEMU, Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, who emphasized the importance of continual faculty development. Renowned Pakistani playwright, TV drama serial writer, and poet, Professor Asghar Nadeem Syed, moderated the first day’s session, enlightening participants on “Teaching as a Profession in Higher Education.”
Program Duration
The training program will run for 20 days, concluding at the end of January. This initiative is expected to have a profound impact on the development of young faculty members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their academic careers.
