The *Department of Orthopaedics* at King Edward Medical University, Mayo Hospital Lahore, successfully hosted the **‘1st International Paediatric Hip Symposium,’** a landmark event in the field of pediatric orthopedics.
The symposium was graced by *Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz*, Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University as Chief Guest and Patron in Chief. *Prof. Ahsan Nauman*, CEO of Mayo Hospital, and *Prof. Muhammad Imran*, Registrar of King Edward Medical University, attended as Guests of Honor. *Prof. Faisal Masood* chaired the course with *Prof. Muhammad Iqbal* as Co-Chairman.
Esteemed guests included *Prof. Muhammad Haroon Hamid* Chairman Dept. of Pediatrics, *Prof. Farrukh Afzal* head Dept. of Anesthesia, Prof. Rana Arshad Professor of Orthopaedics as well as prominent orthopedics surgeons such as *Prof. Mian Hanif* from Lahore General Hospital, *Prof. Sohail Razzaq* from Services Hospital, and *Prof. Javed Hassan* from Jinnah Hospital.
Spanning two comprehensive days, the symposium featured live surgeries, specialized lectures, complex case presentations, and insightful discussions with expert faculty. The event was attended by a remarkable assembly of national and international pediatric orthopedics experts, including *Prof. Muharrem Inan* and *Prof. Yilmaz Guney* from Turkey, and *Prof. Taral Nagda* from India. National experts comprised distinguished figures like *Prof. Anis ud Din Bhatti*, *Dr. Pervez Ali* and *Dr. Fahad Jatoi* from Karachi, *Prof. Sikandar Hayat* and *Dr. Kashif Salik* from Peshawar, Prof. Rana Dilawaiz, Prof. Javed Iqbal, Prof. Atiq uz Zaman, Dr. Abdul Latif Shahid and Dr. Umair Nadeem. Together, the faculty and participants, numbering over 75 and drawn from across the country, made this the significant gathering in the specialty.
State-of-the-art telecasts of live surgeries via HD video links and online interactive discussions allowed attendees to engage directly with faculty on complex pediatric hip issues, significantly enhancing the learning experience. The collaborative effort across institutions contributed to the success of this event.
