INTRODUCTION OF DEPARTMENT

The department of medical education at King Edward Medical University strives diligently to promote a culture of learning, curiosity, research and respect for colleagues, mentors, and patients.

The department ensures provision of quality medical education that enables grooming of competent and humane health professionals. Our aim is to produce doctors and paramedics who can provide the best health care keeping global standards of service delivery in mind.

Our department conducts continuous educational activities in the form of workshops, seminars, symposiums, conferences and awareness walks. We emphasize on development of communication skills, rational thinking, inter professional development, curriculum designing, assessment techniques, medical informatics, Basic life support measures, medical ethics, professional, professionalism and leadership skills. We firmly believe that innovation in teaching, assessment techniques and medical care are mandatory and thus we remain very flexible to absorb emerging global trends. A well designed medical curriculum is the backbone of an institution. We thus emphasize participation of curriculum planning workshops by our faculty members.

All the above would not have been able to be implemented without the support and vision of the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal. He is always enthusiastic to explore and implement advancements in medical education. Development of research culture in the university is his top priority. I am also very thankful to all my colleagues, faculty and staff of King Edward Medical University for their supportive role in strengthening the department of medical education.
